Terms of Service
Open Seat is a spontaneous dating app: you host or join real-life dates that start within two hours. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Open Seat.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Open Seat. By using the app you confirm that you are 18 or older, that you are legally able to enter into this agreement, and that you have not previously been removed from the platform for violating these terms.
Open Seat lets you publish a date listing (a time, an activity, and a public meeting place) or request to join someone else's listing. When a host accepts a request, both people can chat in the app and are expected to meet at the listed time and place. Open Seat currently operates in Haarlem and Amsterdam.
Saying yes to a date only means you are both open to meeting now. It creates no further obligation of any kind between you and the other person.

We may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these rules, at our discretion and without prior notice.
Open Seat does not run background checks on users and cannot vouch for anyone's identity, intentions, or behavior. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, including any in-person meeting. Use common sense: meet in public places (listings on Open Seat are meant to be public locations), tell someone where you are going, arrange your own transportation, and leave if you feel uncomfortable. Use the in-app blocking and reporting tools when something is off.
You keep ownership of the content you post (profile text, pictures, listings, messages). By posting it you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content within the service, for the purpose of operating Open Seat. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for reports retained for safety review as described in the Privacy Policy.
You can stop using Open Seat at any time and delete your account from Settings inside the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as sections 6, 7, 9, and 10) survive.
Open Seat is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any date will take place, or that other users will behave as described in their profiles or listings.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Open Seat and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss or damage arising from your use of the service or from the conduct of other users, whether online or at in-person meetings. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (currently: nothing, as Open Seat is free).
We may update these terms as the service evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app before the changes take effect. Continuing to use Open Seat after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law lets you bring them elsewhere.
